Check the official schedule again on the day. A copied timetable cannot show a late session change, and the sport on your ticket may use a different building within the same venue area.
Do these five things before leaving your hotel
- Add the ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, or save the PDF in the phone's Files app. Keep a screenshot as a second backup.

The SEC guide lists Partick and Ibrox as the nearest subway alternatives to the Hydro, but both involve a substantial walk. Exhibition Centre rail station is much closer. The Hydro is also about a 30-minute walk from the city centre along the Clyde, depending on your starting point and pace.
Traffic Scotland expects heavier traffic on the M8, M74, M77, and M80, especially before and after sessions. Its Glasgow 2026 travel page recommends allowing extra time and checking the live route planner. Other events in Glasgow can add another crowd to the same trains and roads.
Arriving through Glasgow Airport or the city stations
The Glasgow Airport Express 500 links the airport and city centre. Visit Glasgow lists a normal journey time of about 15 minutes, but Games traffic can change that. Buy or load the ticket before joining the queue when possible.
Glasgow Central handles many services from the south and west. Queen Street handles routes toward Edinburgh and northern Scotland. The two stations are roughly a 12-minute walk apart. Do not assume that arriving at one gives you a direct train to every venue.

Can you park at the Commonwealth Games venues?
Ordinary spectator parking is not available at the competition venues. Driving to the address and looking for a nearby street space is likely to waste time, and temporary restrictions around Scotstoun, Tollcross, and Glasgow International Arena are enforced on event days.
If you must drive into Glasgow, use an official park-and-ride option and finish the journey by subway or train. The Games planning page points to subway park-and-ride sites at Bridge Street, Kelvinbridge, and Shields Road, plus parking at selected ScotRail stations. Accessible parking follows separate rules. At Scotstoun, Tollcross, and Glasgow International Arena, a Blue Badge space must be booked in advance and is subject to availability. Ticket, gate, and re-entry rules
Each ticket covers one named session. Check the date, start time, sport, and venue before leaving. The venue guides say the SEC Campus opens 60 minutes before a session, while Scotstoun, Tollcross, and Glasgow International Arena tell spectators not to arrive earlier than 90 minutes before the start.
Security screening happens before the ticket is scanned. Re-entry is generally not allowed after validation. If you hold a ticket for a later session at the same venue, you must leave after the first session and scan the second ticket when the venue reopens.
Last-minute tickets should come from the official ticket portal or official resale channel. The organizer says more seats may appear close to a session. A social post, payment request, or ticket screenshot is not proof that the barcode will work.
Bag, water, camera, and payment rules
One soft-sided bag per person is allowed, up to 48cm long, 34cm high, and 23cm deep. There is no general bag storage at the competition venues, so an oversized bag cannot simply be left at the gate.
You may take one full, sealed plastic drinks container or one empty refillable plastic or metal bottle up to 750ml. Free refill taps are available. A small amount of food for personal use is permitted, but alcohol cannot be brought in.
Mobile phones and ordinary personal cameras are allowed. Tripods, monopods, and professional broadcast equipment are restricted. One external phone power source is allowed, which makes a compact power bank useful for a long day.
Food, drink, and merchandise outlets are cashless. Carry a physical contactless card as well as a phone wallet. A flat battery should not leave you unable to buy water or food.
An umbrella can enter, but it cannot be opened where it blocks another spectator's view. Glasgow weather can turn quickly, so a light waterproof layer is often easier inside a seated venue.
Accessibility and sensory support
Every competition venue has a step-free spectator route, accessible entrance lanes, accessible toilets, and a Changing Places toilet. The accessible lane does not require medical proof or advance booking. Ask a steward when you arrive.
The Games also provides short-term wheelchair loans, sensory bags, ear defenders, hearing augmentation devices, and selected audio-description equipment from venue information points. Availability can be first come, first served. The wheelchair loan helps with movement around the venue but is not intended for the whole session.
Only St Enoch and Govan stations on the Glasgow Subway currently offer step-free access. A subway route that looks shortest on a map may not fit a wheelchair user or someone who cannot manage stairs. Save the ticket, venue guide, hotel address, route home, and one emergency contact outside the browser. A tab that loaded at breakfast can refresh to a blank screen after the local network becomes busy.
Will mobile data work in a packed venue?
Usually, but speed can fall when thousands of phones share the same nearby mobile capacity. A Roaming eSIM can provide visitor data through a supported UK network, but it cannot remove crowd congestion or create indoor signal where none reaches the seat.

Do not schedule two sessions as if the venues share one concourse. A switch from the SEC Campus to Tollcross or Glasgow International Arena crosses the city. Leave room for the walk out, the wait for transport, and another security check.
For a longer break, stay near the next venue instead of returning to the hotel by habit. The official Fan App and schedule can show what is still happening, while Visit Glasgow has current city information. Keep the route back simple after an evening session.
